How do I add or adjust a company-wide billing rate?
1) To add or adjust a company-wide billing rate, start from the Projects screen, click on system in the top navigation bar as shown below.
2) Once in the systems tab, click on Rate Table in the left hand navigation bar highlighted below.
3) Now you're on the company rate table. All projects will pull from this rate table. Note that you can also customize a rate table within a specific project if you need rates specific to a single project and different from your company rates.
On the company rate table shown below, you have a few navigation elements. We'll start with adding a new category and associated rate to the table. To do this click the + Add Row button, this will give you a blank row to enter a new rate. On the new row you must then click the Resource type by clicking the -select type- heading in that column. Then in a similar fashion you must select Resource Category from your company's categorizes list by clicking the -select category- heading in that column. Then again you must select a Unit from your company's units list by clicking the -select unit- heading in that column. The last step is entering the rate. You can either enter the rate manually for each year by clicking the $0.00 for each year and revising to that years rate for your new category. Or use the black calculator icon on the far right of your rate to have it automatically enter the rates in for you in each year. You can even choose to have the system auto increase the rate year by year by a set escalation value and escalation period. Once you're done editing your rate don't forget to hit the blue Save Rate Table button in the top left.
4) You can adjust the number or periods in the top left of the rate table by entering the number of periods you want to include in your company rate table and then clicking update periods. Be aware that if you reduce the number of periods, you will loose the rates for the periods outside of the new lower number of periods. Make sure you hit the blue Save Rate Table button after you update the periods.
5) To remove a row from the rate table, simply click the black trash can icon on the right of your screen next to the rate you want to delete. Once complete be sure to hit the blue Save Rate Table button in the top right of your screen.
6) Note that saving the rate table updates every project that is linked to the company rate table.
